surprises with a twist

So back to the normal routine of study again..
kind of missing the hectic schedules of flying here and there, missing the fun times with family in chch..
when i got home last sunday, my sweet flatmates had a surprise waiting for me.
they gave me sushi to eat for lunch..
they set up a gummi bear hunt for me - i found one in my yoghurt, one in my mint container, one in my notes folder, my dental floss container, rock candy jar and finally one under my eggs in the fridge.
i think they knew i was going to be sad...
and so these kinda cheered me up.
tuesday night, we had a surprise party for jeremy. patrick planned on how to get him out of the house, and suggested that i play a big part in helping.
so around 10pm, jasmine and angie went over to gavin's house, while I txted patrick to ask him to come help me "get rid of spiders". we had asked their flat to help us out once coz there might be a nest of spiders under our washing machine, so we wanted to check it out.
so patrick asked jeremy to come along with him, and the acting began. hahaha!
then i asked patrick if i could get some movies off him as danielle would be coming on friday night. this allows us ALL to go back to their flat, where all the other neighbours and friends were already waiting in the dark kitchen.
as we walked in, he turned on the light and everyone started singing happy birthday.
it was a great night :D
and our door handle is now fixed thanks to alan! :)
(we had to spend 10mins getting the key into the keyhole for the last few days)
its going to be sad next year.. jami wont be around, most of the neighbours would have graduated...
40mins to class. off i go to eat breakfast!

Dear Sherp, looks like I missed out many of your post. Glad to see you are back to normal routine and having great housemates to try cheer you up :) I know how 'homesick' it feels. The post-family thing. I don't know how to explain but I get it all the time.
Hope you are well. Persevere!

Gummi bear hunt? Sounds so nice!!! Cheer up ok, girl? Just enjoy the time you have. I was also quite homesick everytime I return from home. You just have to get through with it. Like now, I think I cope better. I guess you just need to enjoy your surroundings more so, you wouldn't feel that homesick. =) Miss you much! And hope you got my MSN offline msg. =)

yeah it was quiet for me too when everyone left. it's good that friends/husband are there to cheer us up. things will be more quiet when hubby's parents go back. sigh
