Third day in Istanbul.. (sorry I am a bit slow at continuing on the Turkish journey)
After our two enjoyable tours the first two days in Istanbul, we decided to go shopping on our third day. After all, it's after Christmas, I was really hoping there would be huge sales everywhere.
It is thus, this day, that we learnt of some new Turkish words, such as Indirim and Ye Varan.
We started the day off with the same breakfast again (the food is the same everyday~ >___<) and set off by walking from our hotel to the tram station. There are two stations close to our hotel, Cemberlitas and Sultanahmet Stations.
We wanted to go to Sultanahment station, but thanks to my fantastic direction giving, we had to walk around for quite some time, and finally ended up at Cemberlitas. Hohoho, I'm impressed with my "turn right here, no, not this road, the next one..blabla"

Cemberlitas station with the tram

There are several huge shopping malls in Istanbul: the ones we considered were Metrocity, IstinyePark Grand Cevahir and Kanyon Shopping Centre. [These were recommended by our friendly tour guide on day 1 - she even gave us tips on how to get there :)]
and.... Cevahir Mall it is! :)
Cevahir Shopping Mall is the largest in Europe and 6th largest in the world! Mega shock!
We took the tram from Cemberlitas to Kabatas (across the bridge) and from there, we took a Finukuler, which is a small small tram that travelled 5 minutes, to Taksim.
From Taksim, we rode on the Metro train (reminds me of London so so much!) to Sisli Mecidiyekoy.
Ps. these place names are actually written with their Turkish alphabets too but I can't type them out. Eg. (copied from Wikipedia) - Şişli Mecidiyeköy

While waiting for Cevahir to open at 10am (we got there half an hour early), we walked around outside to have a look.

Inside Cevahir
Cevahir has 6 floors - and the mall is definitely a breathtakingly 'shop-till-you-drop' kind.
But, not if there's no sale.
Because most things were still expensive~
*slaps forehead* so much for shop-till-you-drop. hahaha
We spent the entire morning there, and after lunch - a wonderful buffet! - we went to Taksim Square. If you can recall (I'd be amazed), we went to Taksim the day before, as our tour guide showed us around the street shops.

The night scene at Taksim Square

A person selling all kinds of barbequed nuts, which is really common everywhere. The smell was not so inviting though.
We were very full from the extravagant buffet at lunch, so we had a small dinner before heading back to the hotel.
