Rising Sun
Sunday, August 16, 2009
Early last Sunday morning, I woke up excitedly at around 6.25am and got changed, ready to set out on a mission of capturing Dunedin at dawn.
My flatmates woke up as well, with a mixture of grudging tiredness and excitement, and we left the house at 7am. Walking towards the station flats, I txted TJ, from whom I borrowed the Dslr from and I was so thankful that he was willing to wake up so early to pass it to me, since he had a late night party just a few hours before we woke up.
After we got the Nikon d70, we walked towards the harbour (I actually didn't have any idea where it was, so I was walking blindly but with determination). We actually saw the beautiful view at the harbour during our UMAT exam morning when the bus drove by, so we roughly knew the direction where we had to go to reach the harbour. The walk took half an hour - and we arrived with plenty of time ahead to capture the pre-dawn scenery. I had checked a week before for the sunrise time, which was expected to be at 7.47am.
We managed to shoot a lot of awesome and beautiful pictures - which I intend to enter into our Uniprint photo competition. I will therefore only enlighten you guys with some pics - and will put up the rest when the photo comp is over.
We stayed till around 9am before going back home - taking lots of random photos! :)
