Cumbie-warming

The anticipation and wait for university life has been a long one for me. When I walked out of the exam hall [gym] in St Benedict's back on 19th June 2008, my mind was set dead straight on the holidays ahead, and as the months passed, slowly, I began to wonder what university will have in store for me, as I watched friends around me describing their uni life.
The wait is finally over.
I am here. This is now.
No more free days lounging around with nothing better to do, spending my days in front of the computer dilly-dallying.
I am now a university student!
The journey to get here was quite mildly problematic - if we can put it that way. The bus journey from Christchurch to Dunedin was long and delayed, our check-in was troublesome as they couldn't find our booking and it was nearly 11pm!
But finally, after everything is settled, it is safe to say I am quite settled in and my room is really comfy and nice. I share the house with 3 other housemates, us having a room each - two upstairs and two downstairs. Mine is one of the room downstairs. We also have a laundry room with dryer upstairs.

I was sad when Daddy had to leave, but it was the inevitable thing to happen.
Pre-lims start tomorrow.
I still haven't gone to any orientation events. My flatmates and I queued up to go to 'The Hypnotist' but we couldn't get in because there is a capacity of 500, and the queues were SO LONG. I could have gotten in, since I have the Super Pass, but I didn't want to go alone, since I'd have to walk back alone later. The streets are full of drunkards. No thanks.
We went instead to Laser Force! It was organised by Cumbie Court [my residential hall] and out of 16 ppl, I was number 13th. Erm, quite bad but.. not my fault people keep shooting me when I am shooting them!!!
I shall post about our Cumbie Court Photo Scavenger Hunt next time.
oh, and Yuan Koko called me today to ask if I was okay, as he saw in the news about 'student riots' in Otago Uni. Haha, aww. Actually, it was the Toga Parade going out of control [lucky I didn't go] 3 people were even arrested. Shop windows cracked, cars being attacked and rubbish were littered all over the Dunedin streets. Here are just some links to let you see -

yea, events like this are potential out-of-controls, so make sure to go with ur girl friends or very trusted guy friends when going to parties, clubbings etc. and never leave ur drink unattended, that's the golden rule! ;)
