The Power of The Mind
Tuesday, December 30, 2008
We were in the shopping mall this morning, and I was convinced to walk with my eyes closed, led by the two girls - Char and Veep. As I walked, I suddenly felt an impact in front of me, as if I walked into a pole, so I recoiled really fast and hard out of instinct.
When I opened my eyes, there was nothing in front of me, though a light pole stood a few metres away. They were quite surprised too that I'd suddenly tug myself out of their grip.
Truth is, while I was walking with my eyes closed, I was thinking what would happen if I walked into something, and how it would hurt etc.
And just suddenly, I thought I must have hit into something, I'd even flinched!
Weird.
But, it gave me much thoughts about the power of the mind. Many things have happened, and in a lot of situations, I always hear the phrase 'It's all in the mind!'.
Wouldn't it be cool if the mind develops into another level, talking about telekinesis and such. Haha!
But this also links to emotions. Does the mind control the emotions?
Do you THINK of how you feel?
Hmm. another thought to ponder for today!
Ah. Im bored.

actually this is probably due to your brain receiving wrong signal or misinterpret it :P
like how you flinch when you tot something is biting or stinging you, but when u look down there's nothing there. or when u accidentally touched a cold thing but the brain interprets it as hot, and reflex action kicks in.
but i do agree the mind can do wonders, and we can relate Jaz's post to this haha. although emotions are probably controlled by hormones :P
see, i'm as bored as you to ponder into this as well...

The brain is still a huge mystery! You'll be fascinated when you study it. It's so intriguing..
