a week full of surprises...

This week was the exam week in school. I had 4 exams on Monday - the first was Foundation Chemistry, the second- Biology Module 2, the third, Maths (C1) and followed by Physics (PHYS1) last period, which continued into half an hour after school.
Then, on Tuesday, I had Maths Mechanics test. So far, everything went well - In Biology, I received my Bio test results. Mr C made a comment that I'd dropped a few marks from my previous test and that I was the
only person that did not improve. I was so relieved to see that I'd only dropped 2%... sheesh, made me so worried for a moment haha.. and then during the second Biology lesson, as usual the guys were picking on Marilena. She mentioned that she was cold and they opened all the windows, instead of helping her to close it. So she tried to close it but of course, couldn't reach. I tried to help her but I couldn't reach either. So, she sat up on the table and reached out to close it. I followed suit and we managed to close two windows. However, the guys were quick to open it once more. For a second time, I successfully closed the window. Unfortunately, when I came off the table, I twisted my ankle so bad. For a moment, I couldn't move and I was leaning on the table. Marilena came over to have a look and I guess the pain just forced the tears to flow. In the end, the guys and Marilena convinced me to go to the nurse, and being supported by Marilena, I limped all the way to the nurse's office. Gosh, with the eyes of the little boys outside the class - it's a bit embarrassing >< - I was even offered to be carried down (haha) At the nurse's office, I was given an ice pack on my ankle for 10 minutes.

my swollen swollen ankle - just like an egg pasted onto my ankle ^^
The swelling has gone down, luckily. And I can walk normally now - unlike Wednesday, when I had to limp my way around school and got called a handicap (haha, thanks a lot, Isa :P). I was told by mum to stay home but I don't think I can manage to miss a Chemistry double lesson - I'd have a lot to catch up on! So, anyway, I also received my results for both Maths tests.... which brought me surprising joy. I had aimed for 100% for C1 - but I got 97%. After mark adjustment due to the shortage of time during exam, I got 100%!! :) I was so happy. In the next Maths lesson, Mechanics test was also returned. Before that, Michael mentioned that someone got 100% and we were trying to bet on who it was. I was pointing to Ruaridh, he was pointing to me. Michael then said, "I bet my money on Ari", Ari, who was standing nearby, laughed and said, "I didn't even finish the paper" and we all laughed. (Okay, I know this may not seem funny, but for me, that situation was so so so funny) so the test was given back, and surprisingly, it was me that got 100%. It was a shock. Mechanics? Me? 100%? Not a right match. Maybe the reason was because the questions were the ones I could understand. Because normally, when I did past paper questions I get really bad marks. Yet.... it was a nice feeling ^^ 2 maths paper... 200% yay...
Thursday came, and I sat for another Physics - Mechanics (PHYS2) paper. This was... better than the one in November. I felt quite confident because I had actually come across that particular past paper question. So the result will probably be out on Tuesday. Then, PHYS1 paper was given back and I was so disappointed to see a big red 69% in front. As we were going through it, Mr B. asked who had gotten full 7 marks for question 3. I raised my hand, then counted the ticks at the same time. I realised there were only 6 so put my hand back down and told him I didn't (while laughing sheepishly). He had a look and realised that he had missed a tick. I was SO relieved, because I just needed one more mark to get a B. I was whispering over and over again while he was looking at my paper, "please be a mark!!" and he laughed and gave me a tick. Yes! 71% is better than 69%!!! So yea.. that's all...
Coming to Friday, Chemistry.... all through the week, I'd heard that (there's two classes of chem in lower6) the other class had gotten their results back and the highest mark was a C. It was a shock, and many people were disappointed. There had been a "rumour" going around though, that I was the only one that got an A. In our class, there were only 3 passes. An A and 2 Cs. The rest were Ds and Es. wow.. Mr. L was quite.. mad. I felt bad because they were being compared to me, and because of me, they got scolded real bad. "English isn't even Selene's first language, and compared to you all that was born here, should be a shame." :(
But I was also happy that I obtained 92%
Now, only another physics mark to get back - and Bio Mod 1 exam results coming out March 15th!!
Also on Friday we had 3 periods of career event, when we listened to talks about all types of career choices. I had chosen Forensic Science and Media(SNTV). To my .. disappointment, I had previously thought media was about like production of movies, and I didn't know what SNTV stood for. Great... I entered the Sports Science class to find ... it's Sports News TeleVision. (SNTV) so it was all about sports... haha! me and sports don't go well together. It was a torture coz next door, I could see people were playing badminton and I badly wanted to join them. I got a free pen and I had to admit, it was quite interesting to an extent. The speaker was a TV producer/journalist. He asked 2 questions, which of course I don't know the answer, and the people that answered it right, got SNTV sweaters!!! I want!!!! Haha...
Next, Forensic Science. Wow... I loved it. It was 2 periods long. And it was very very interesting! Before it began, they asked if anyone who could not handle gory photos, to leave because they can't handle people getting traumatised. So it was an early health warning. We were shown how they used fingerprints, lasers, photography, shoeprints etc. to track down murderers etc. We were shown real photos of victims and their injuries. Let's just say, there was a lot of blood.... bodies.... and more. I was so fascinated because it is amazing how they can track people down, how they can reconstruct what had happened. Yep, just like CSI but indeed, more realistic. I also got a pen ^^
After school, while walking with Riccardo, Isa, Nicoletta and Andrea, Riccardo was holding a large tube. I immediately guessed that he had won it from SNTV. He showed me that it was a large 2007 calender. He said he didn't want it and if I minded that he was giving it to me... Aww!! I refused at first, because it was his, but since he insisted... Here it is :)

Ouch! The swollen ankle looks bad, hope it serves as a reminder to the naughty guy friends.
Congrats on your 200%! So proud of you, Sherp! :) *HUGS* I wish Lynthia can be at least as hardworking and as responsible as you. She's so lazy lately.
